4 Tips to Know While Driving Around the Valley, What you need to know

If you call the valley home here are four essential tips that you need to know while driving around town.

Tip #1 one Valley addresses are either four or five digits long North and South Streets have four digit addresses with the exception being in the North Valley around Lassen where it becomes the 10,000 block. Also East-West streets have five digit numbers

Tip #2 address numbers decrease as you head south and increase as you head north. For example the 4000 block in Encino was south of the boulevard while the 9000 block is around Northridge. Also moving West means higher address numbers and moving East means lower.

Tip #3 odd and even south and east sides of the street have even numbered addresses while north and west sides have odd numbers.

Tip #4 if you live on a “street” that means that it goes east and west while if you live on an “Avenue” that means it goes North and South. Streets that are considered boulevards like Chandler, Balboa, and Ventura, those are wider streets. In order to be considered a Boulevard it must be at least 100 feet wide.
